HubSpot Sales Hub and Zoho CRM tied for the top of sales analytics software, each named in 4 of the 6 answers ChatGPT and Gemini gave when we asked them to recommend a tool. No single product was named in all six. We ran this on 6 August 2026: six buyer questions put to ChatGPT and Gemini, one live web search per answer, with every product named and every source domain behind it recorded.
Behind the two leaders sits a clear second tier. Clari and Zoho Analytics were each named in 3 of the 6 answers, or 50%. Then a wide band of six products tied at 2 of 6 answers, 33% each: Pipedrive, Salesforce Sales Cloud, Salesforce Analytics Cloud, SAP Sales Cloud, Tableau and ThoughtSpot. Everything else was named once.
The long tail is long. 15 of the 25 distinct product labels we recorded were named in just 1 of the 6 answers, from Power BI and Sisense to Close, Salesflare and Substrata. In a category this crowded, being named even twice put a product ahead of 60% of the field.
The shortlist changed with every question
This category has no stable shortlist. It reshaped itself around the wording of each question, and that is the single most useful thing this measurement shows.
The bare question, "best sales analytics software," pulled in the business-intelligence tools: 8 products named, including Tableau, Power BI, Sisense and GoodData alongside Salesforce Sales Cloud and HubSpot Sales Hub. Power BI, Sisense and GoodData were each named in this one question and nowhere else across the six.
"Best free sales analytics software" swapped that BI cluster out for free-tier CRMs. Its 8 names included Substrata, Agentforce Sales, Pipedrive, and two Salesforce labels, Salesforce and Sales Cloud, with HubSpot Sales Hub and Zoho CRM leading. Substrata, Agentforce Sales, Sales Cloud, Salesforce and BIGContacts by ProProfs each appeared only in this free-tier question.
"Most affordable sales analytics software" produced the shortest list of all: just 5 products, Zoho CRM, Zoho Analytics, HubSpot Sales Hub, SAP Sales Cloud and SimplyDepo. SimplyDepo, the roundup publisher whose pages fed all six answers, was named as a product only here.
The other two framings had their own single-question names. "Best sales analytics software for small teams" surfaced a crop of niche CRMs: Agile CRM, Close and Salesflare were each named only in that one question. "What sales analytics software should I use" was the only question to name Mode, and the only one of the six whose sources included a Reddit thread.
Only one product bridged all three framings a buyer cares about most. HubSpot Sales Hub was named in the bare "best" answer, the "best free" answer and the "most affordable" answer, 4 of 6 answers overall. Zoho CRM covered "free" and "affordable" but not the bare "best." If your product only wins on one of these framings, you are invisible on the other two.
The source map: who actually fed the answers
Across the six answers, ChatGPT and Gemini cited 48 source pages, 8 per answer. Three domains appeared in all 6: pipeline.zoominfo.com, which is ZoomInfo's content hub, salesforce.com, and simplydepo.com. When a category has three pages that show up in every answer, those pages are the category as far as the model is concerned.
Review directories barely showed. G2 appeared in 4 of the 6 answers, but Capterra did not appear once, and no other software directory turned up at all. For a category people assume is directory-driven, these answers leaned far more on vendor blogs and roundup posts, plerdy.com and gooddata.ai fed 4 answers each, than on review sites.
Community threads were nearly absent. Reddit appeared in exactly 1 of the 6 answers, on the "what should I use" question, and Quora did not appear at all. That is 1 community citation out of 48 total. The models are reading marketing content here, not forum consensus.
Here is the insight a vendor should act on: when a vendor's own domain was cited, its product was usually named in that same answer. clari.com fed 3 answers and Clari was named in exactly 3. thoughtspot.com fed 2 answers and ThoughtSpot was named in exactly 2. salesforce.com fed all 6 and a Salesforce product was named in 5 of them. zoho.com fed 3, and Zoho CRM at 4 and Zoho Analytics at 3 were the most-named products after HubSpot. The models retrieved the vendor's own page and then recommended the vendor.
It is not automatic, though. gooddata.ai was cited in 4 answers but GoodData the product was named only once, and simplydepo.com fed all 6 answers while SimplyDepo was named just once. A page can rank as a source, usually a roundup listing many tools, without its own brand being the one the model picks. Getting cited is necessary but not sufficient.
What a vendor here would do to get named
The lever is the source list, not market share. Power BI and Tableau are among the largest analytics products on the market, yet each was named in only 2 of 6 answers, and only where a BI roundup happened to list them. Presence in the retrieved pages decided the outcome, not company size.
So the playbook is concrete. Get onto the three pages that fed every answer (pipeline.zoominfo.com, salesforce.com and simplydepo.com), the two roundups that fed 4 answers each (plerdy.com and gooddata.ai), and G2, the one directory that showed up, at 4 of 6. Then publish a strong, matchable page on your own domain, because Clari and ThoughtSpot were named the moment their own page was the source.
And pick your framing. Because the shortlist changed per question, a vendor should decide which buyer question it wants to win. The free-tier answer named 8 products; the affordable answer named only 5. Winning the narrow "most affordable" question took just one well-placed roundup, since only 5 products competed there at all.
The full list, counted
These are the 10 products named in 2 or more of the 6 answers. Note the double-labelling: the same brand shows up under different names, so we keep each label as its own row rather than invent a combined total the data never measured. HubSpot appears as both "HubSpot Sales Hub" at 4 and plain "HubSpot" at 1; Salesforce appears as "Salesforce Sales Cloud," "Salesforce Analytics Cloud," "Sales Cloud" and plain "Salesforce"; and BIGContacts appears as both "BIGContacts" and "BIGContacts by ProProfs." We report every label as measured.
| Product | Named in | Share |
|---|---|---|
| HubSpot Sales Hub | 4 of 6 | 67% |
| Zoho CRM | 4 of 6 | 67% |
| Clari | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| Zoho Analytics | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| Pipedrive | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| Salesforce Analytics Cloud | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| Salesforce Sales Cloud | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| SAP Sales Cloud | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| Tableau | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| ThoughtSpot | 2 of 6 | 33% |
Glotier does not sell sales analytics software, so we are correctly absent from all six of these answers, and we would not want to fake our way in. But running this measurement is exactly what we do for a customer's own category: the same six-question fan-out, the same product and source counts, for whatever you sell. The check is free, no account, about a minute.
