When you do go and measure, asking one assistant is not a measurement. Across the 39 of 40 buying questions in our own study where all three answered, only 30% of products were named by all of them and 47% were named by exactly one. Checking a single assistant shows you 58% to 65% of the products named across the three, depending which one you pick, so a one-engine check reports roughly two thirds of the field as though it were the whole.
What we measured, 31 July 2026
- Of 259 domains AI cited in the AI visibility category on 31 July 2026, 235 allowed every AI crawler.
- 18 of 244 of those sites block GPTBot but allow OAI-SearchBot, leaving ChatGPT search while opting out of training.
- Only 5 of 259 cited domains block an AI search crawler by name, and all four are large publishers.

Blocked means a whole-site disallow for the matching group, so partial rules are not counted and these figures understate blocking. 0 domain did not answer and is excluded rather than counted as open. Whether your robots.txt turns away the agents that fetch pages while answering, such as OAI-SearchBot, Claude-User and PerplexityBot. Whether your pages can be retrieved and quoted at all. How many sentences an assistant could lift whole without rewriting them. And whether your paragraphs carry a figure with what it is a share of, or a source. Blocking a training crawler like GPTBot is not counted against you: that is a licensing choice and it costs nothing at answer time.Does this tell me whether ChatGPT names me?
No, and we would rather say so than imply it. Finding that out means putting real buyer questions to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity and reading the answers, which costs money per question, so it is what the paid plans are for. This check answers the question underneath it: if an assistant went looking, could it use your pages at all.Where do the fixes come from? Is an AI writing them?
No AI is involved. Each finding is a rule tied to something a vendor published or something we measured, and the fix is written against that rule, so the same page always produces the same answer. We run it on glotier.com too, and we fix what it tells us.Do you save anything about me?
