Five products tied for the top of embedded analytics software: Domo, GoodData, Looker, Sisense and Tableau were each named in 5 of the 6 answers we collected, an 83% hit rate. We put the six questions a buyer actually types to ChatGPT and Gemini, gave each question one live web search, and recorded every product named and every source cited. No single tool owned the category. Five of them shared the top, and the gap only opened up below them.
ThoughtSpot sat just behind the five leaders, named in 4 of 6 answers (67%), the sixth and last tool to clear more than half the answers. Microsoft Power BI followed at 3 of 6 (50%). Below that the counts drop fast: Logi Symphony, Metabase and QRvey each appeared in 2 of 6 (33%), and seven more products, from Apache Superset to Yellowfin BI, were named exactly once (17%). Seventeen product names came up in total, so the field is wide, but the top is settled.
The shortlist changed with every word the buyer added
The bare question, "best embedded analytics software," returned eight established names: Sisense, Looker, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Domo, ThoughtSpot, Yellowfin BI and Logi Symphony. Yellowfin BI appeared here and nowhere else across the six answers, its only mention (1 of 6). This is the default shortlist, the one a buyer sees when they ask the obvious question.
Add one word, "free," and the list turned over. "Best free embedded analytics software" returned Looker, Metabase, Sisense, ThoughtSpot, Domo, Tableau, Power BI and GoodData. Metabase, the open-source option, entered here for the first time and was named in only 2 of 6 answers overall, both of them price questions. Yellowfin BI and Logi Symphony dropped out. Five of the enterprise names survived the word "free" even though they are not free, so the assistants read "free" loosely.
Add a different word, "affordable," and the shortlist broke completely. "Most affordable embedded analytics software" returned Draxlr, Metabase, Apache Superset, QRvey, Holistics.io and GoodData, six names, and not one of them appeared in the bare "best" answer. Zero overlap between "best" and "most affordable." Draxlr, Apache Superset and Holistics.io were each named in this affordable question and no other, one mention apiece (1 of 6). The affordable buyer and the best buyer were handed two separate markets.
The "small teams" cut had its own exclusives. "Best embedded analytics software for small teams" was the only place Luzmo and Reveal were named, one answer each (1 of 6). So four of the six questions surfaced at least one product no other question did. There is no single AI answer for this category. There are six, and the words the buyer picks decide which tools they ever hear about.
The source map: Reddit and one vendor fed every answer
Two domains were cited in all six answers: reddit.com and gooddata.ai, each 6 of 6. Reddit leading is ordinary for software, buyers trust peer threads. A single vendor's own marketing domain tying for first is not ordinary, and it is the most useful fact in this report.
Here is the pattern that set the leaderboard. GoodData's own domain, gooddata.ai, was a source in all 6 answers, and GoodData the product was named in 5. Domo's domain fed 5 answers and Domo was named in 5. Sisense's domain fed 5 and Sisense was named in 5. The tools the assistants recommended most were, almost one for one, the vendors whose own pages the assistants were reading. Being the source is how you become the answer.
Community and roundup pages filled the rest. Reddit sat in all 6 answers, and a single Amazon QuickSight community thread appeared in 1 of 6. Analyst and roundup sites showed up lightly: Gartner, GetApp, TechnologyAdvice and insightsoftware.com each fed 1 to 3 answers. insightsoftware.com, which publishes Logi Symphony, was cited in 3 of 6 and Logi Symphony was named in 2, the same vendor-becomes-source pattern one tier down.
The classic review directories barely registered. G2 was cited once, in 1 of 6 answers. Capterra did not appear at all. For a category where buyers are told to "check G2 and Capterra," the assistants mostly did not: Reddit threads and vendor pages outweighed the directories by a wide margin in what actually got read.
What this means if you sell embedded analytics
If you want ChatGPT or Gemini to name your tool, the data says to get into the exact pages they read, not to chase market share. GoodData, Domo and Sisense had their own domains cited in 5 to 6 of the 6 answers, and each was named in 5. The assistants pulled from a short, specific source list, and that list decided the shortlist.
Concretely, the sources that mattered here were Reddit (6 of 6) and vendor-owned pages (gooddata.ai 6, domo.com 5, sisense.com 5). A vendor who is invisible in Reddit threads about embedded analytics, and whose own site is not written to be quoted, will not be named however good the product is. Draxlr and Holistics.io each earned a mention off a single affordable-focused page (1 of 6), so being in the right thread beat being big.
Where Glotier fits, and where it does not
Glotier does not sell embedded analytics software, so we are correctly absent from all 6 of these answers. That is the honest result: we are not in this category, we did not appear, and we would not trust a report that pretended otherwise. What you just read, six buyer questions with every product counted and every source domain mapped, is exactly the check we run on a customer's own category.
If you sell embedded analytics, or anything else, the same run against your category shows which tools ChatGPT and Gemini name and which pages they read to decide. The check is free, needs no account, and takes about a minute.
The full list, counted
One note on the count first: "Microsoft Power BI" (3 of 6) and "Power BI" (1 of 6) are the same Microsoft product, recorded under two labels by the assistants. We list them as the data recorded them and do not add them together, because the measurement never showed a combined number.
