Profit.co and Weekdone tied at the top of the OKR software category, each named in 4 of the 6 answers we collected from ChatGPT and Gemini. We asked the two assistants six ways a real buyer types this search, ran one live web search per question on 2026-08-06, and recorded every product each answer named and every source domain it drew from. One answer per question, six answers in total, and not one product was named in all six.

No single tool ran the table. The next tier, named in 3 of 6 answers each, was a four-way tie: Mooncamp, Perdoo, Tability and Workboard. Below them, five tools landed in 2 of 6: Asana, Betterworks, Craft.io, Range and SugarOKR. Twenty-one distinct product labels were named across the six answers, so this is a crowded field where no name is a lock.

The two leaders barely overlapped. Profit.co was named in "best okr software," "what okr software should I use," "most affordable okr software" and "okr software recommendations." Weekdone was named in "best okr software," "best okr software for small teams," "best free okr software" and "okr software recommendations." They shared only the two generic queries, and each owned a different pair of specific ones. Finishing joint-first, at 4 of 6 apiece, did not mean either one showed up everywhere.

How the shortlist changed from question to question

The shortlist was never one list. Across the six answers it reshuffled every time the phrasing changed, and the "free" and "most affordable" versions shared as little as one product with the generic "best" list.

The bare "best okr software" query and the "okr software recommendations" query returned the exact same eight products: Mooncamp, Perdoo, Tability, Weekdone, Workboard, Profit.co, Craft.io and Range. Two different phrasings, one identical shortlist of 8. That is the stable core the assistants reach for when the question adds no constraint, and it is where Craft.io and Range live: both were named in those two answers and nowhere else.

Add the word "free" and the list swapped almost completely. "Best free okr software" named eight tools, and only two of them, Weekdone and Perdoo, came from that generic core. The other six were Google Sheets, SugarOKR, Synergita, Primalogik, Allo and Futureworks. Four of those, Synergita, Primalogik, Allo and Futureworks, appear in this entire study exactly once, only in the free answer.

"Most affordable okr software" fanned out to yet another set of five: OKRs Tool, Profit.co, Tabby AI, Tability.io and Google Suite. Only Profit.co carried over from the generic core. OKRs Tool, Tabby AI and Google Suite each appear exactly once in the whole study, only in this affordable answer. A buyer moving from "best" to "most affordable" would watch four of the five names on the shortlist change.

The team-context questions produced their own names. "Best okr software for small teams" and "what okr software should I use" were the only two answers to name Asana and Betterworks, each named in 2 of 6 overall. "What okr software should I use" also surfaced Oboard OKR Software, which appears in that one answer and no other. Asana and Betterworks, both large general-purpose tools, never appeared in the generic, free or affordable answers at all.

The takeaway for anyone tracking this category: one "are we named for OKR software" check is not enough. Weekdone, named in 4 of 6 answers overall, looks like a winner if you only ask about "free," where it appears, and vanishes if you only ask about "most affordable," where it does not. The single word a buyer adds changes who exists.

Where the answers came from

Four domains fed all six answers: okrstool.com, peoplemanagingpeople.com, reddit.com and whatmatters.com. Every answer, whatever the phrasing, pulled from those four. If your product is missing from those four pages, you begin every one of these questions at a disadvantage.

One of those four is a community forum. Reddit was cited in 6 of 6 answers, Quora in 1 of 6 and YouTube in 2 of 6. Real user discussion, led by Reddit at 6 of 6, is not a side source here, it is a top-tier one the assistants used for every single question.

Here is the finding that matters most if you sell in this category. Three products had their own website quoted as a source, and all three got named. Mooncamp's own domain, mooncamp.com, fed 5 of 6 answers, and Mooncamp was named in 3 of 6. Tability's domain, tability.io, fed 4 of 6, and Tability was named in 3 of 6. SugarOKR's domain, sugarokr.com, fed 1 answer, and SugarOKR was named in 2 of 6. Publishing your own comparison and roundup content is not vanity here, it is a working path onto the shortlist.

The review directories most vendors worry about barely registered. G2 and Capterra did not appear in a single one of the six answers. The only analyst or directory site that fed any answer was Gartner, in 4 of 6. Everything else was OKR-topic roundups (okrstool.com, whatmatters.com), a management publication (peoplemanagingpeople.com), Reddit, and vendors' own pages.

What gets a product named here

Named is not the same as biggest. Asana is a far larger company than either leader, and it was named in 2 of 6 answers, while OKR-specific Profit.co and Weekdone led at 4 of 6. The assistants were not ranking by market share, they were repeating whichever names fill the specific pages they read.

So the path to getting named is concrete, not mysterious. Be present on the four sources that fed every answer: okrstool.com, peoplemanagingpeople.com, reddit.com and whatmatters.com. Earn a real Reddit presence, since it was cited in 6 of 6. Publish your own comparison content, the way Mooncamp (a source in 5 of 6) and Tability (4 of 6) did. And cover the specific phrasings, because "free" and "affordable" each pulled an almost entirely different list from "best."

None of that requires being the market leader: Profit.co and Weekdone led at 4 of 6 without being the biggest names in the room. It requires being in the sources. On this evidence, the source list, not your revenue, decides whether an assistant says your name.

The full list, counted

Counts are out of the 6 answers. Tability appears under two labels the assistants actually used, "Tability" in 3 of 6 and "Tability.io" in 1 of 6, so we keep them as separate rows rather than merge them into a total the measurement never recorded. Google shows the same split, named once as "Google Sheets" and once as "Google Suite."

Glotier is not OKR software, so we are not named in any of these six answers, and that is the correct result, not a gap to fix. But running the measurement is exactly what we do. We put the six ways buyers ask for an OKR tool to ChatGPT and Gemini, read back who gets named and which sources decided it, and we can point the identical check at your own category. It is free, no account, about a minute.

The questions we asked

One live web search per question, put to serper+or:chatgpt, gemini on 2026-08-06. 6 of 6 came back with an answer we could read. Whether a product was named is decided by looking for it in the answer text, not by asking a model for its opinion.

  2. best okr software for small teams
  3. what okr software should I use
  4. best free okr software
