Two products, Hireflix and VidCruiter, were each named in all 6 of the 6 answers we collected, the only tools in this category to hit a clean 100% when we asked ChatGPT and Gemini which video interview software to use.

We ran this on 2026-08-06. We put six buyer questions about video interview software to ChatGPT and Gemini, gave each question one live web search, and logged every product named and every source domain cited. Thirteen distinct products came up across the six answers, but only five appeared in at least half of them: Hireflix (6 of 6), VidCruiter (6 of 6), Jobma (5 of 6), HireVue (4 of 6), and Willo (3 of 6). Only ChatGPT and Gemini were queried, so this is their view, not the whole internet's.

The full list, counted

ProductNamed inShare
Hireflix6 of 6100%
VidCruiter6 of 6100%
Jobma5 of 683%
HireVue4 of 667%
Willo3 of 650%
Avature2 of 633%
Clovers AI1 of 617%
CodeSignal1 of 617%
CodeSignal Interview1 of 617%

The counts are out of six answers. One brand, CodeSignal, appears twice under two labels: CodeSignal (1 of 6) and CodeSignal Interview (1 of 6), because the assistants wrote its name both ways across different questions. We kept both rows rather than fold them into a 2 the data never recorded as a single number. Four more products also landed at 1 of 6 but sit outside the table: Harver, ScreeningHive, Spark Hire, and Workable.

How the shortlist changed with the question

The wording of the question moved the answer a lot, and that is the most useful thing in this data. Only Hireflix and VidCruiter survived every phrasing, named in all 6 of 6 sub-questions. Jobma held 5 of 6, missing only the open-ended "video interview software recommendations." Everything below that churned.

The bare "best video interview software" pulled the widest net, 8 products in one answer, and it was the only place three names appeared at all: Workable, Spark Hire, and CodeSignal Interview each showed up here and nowhere else in the six.

"Best video interview software for small teams" did the opposite and returned the tightest list of the whole set, just 3 products: Hireflix, Jobma, and VidCruiter. Notably, HireVue, a 4 of 6 name overall, was absent from the small-teams answer entirely, and also absent from "what video interview software should I use."

Free and affordable are not the same question to these assistants, and the data shows it plainly. "Best free video interview software" surfaced 6 products and was the only place ScreeningHive appeared. "Most affordable video interview software" surfaced just 4, and every one of them (Jobma, Hireflix, VidCruiter, HireVue) was already a mainstream name. The free question reached for a niche tool; the affordable question stayed with the establishment.

Willo traced the free-tier pattern too, named in "best", "best free", and "recommendations" but in none of the small-teams, "what should I use", or "most affordable" answers, 3 of 6 overall. The open "video interview software recommendations" query behaved like a catch-all, naming 8 products and being the sole home of three more: Harver, Clovers AI, and CodeSignal. Avature was the one name to appear in exactly two questions, "what should I use" and "recommendations," 2 of 6 in total.

Where the answers came from

Thirteen source domains fed the six answers, and three were cited in every single one: reddit.com (6 of 6), the roundup hiretruffle.com (6 of 6), and the roundup selectsoftwarereviews.com (6 of 6). Community threads and independent roundups, not vendor marketing, formed the backbone.

Reddit and Quora carried the community weight, cited in 6 of 6 and 2 of 6 answers. The independent roundups and analysts did the rest: hiretruffle.com and selectsoftwarereviews.com at 6 of 6, gartner.com at 5 of 6, peoplemanagingpeople.com at 4 of 6, and hyrefast.ai at 1 of 6.

The classic software review directories barely registered. G2 was cited in 1 of 6 answers, and Capterra was not cited once, 0 of 6. If you assumed your G2 or Capterra profile is what gets you into an AI answer for video interview software, this sample says otherwise.

Here is the key insight: several vendors' own domains were cited as sources, and every one of those vendors got named. vidcruiter.com was cited in 3 of 6 answers and VidCruiter was named in 6 of 6. willo.video was cited in 4 of 6 and Willo named in 3 of 6. hirevue.com was cited in 3 of 6 and HireVue named in 4 of 6. Even jobma.com, cited in just 1 of 6, and screeninghive.com at 2 of 6, tracked with their products being named. Your own published pages can become the evidence the assistant quotes back.

But the sharpest fact cuts the other way. Hireflix, tied for first at 6 of 6, had no owned domain in the source list at all. Its perfect score came entirely from third parties: reddit.com, hiretruffle.com, selectsoftwarereviews.com, gartner.com, and peoplemanagingpeople.com. You can lead this category in AI answers without a single citation to your own site. And note that willo.video was cited in the "most affordable" answer while Willo itself was not named there, proof that being a source and being the recommendation are two different wins.

What gets a video interview tool named

Named is decided by the source list, not by market share. In this category the sources that mattered were reddit.com (6 of 6), hiretruffle.com (6 of 6), selectsoftwarereviews.com (6 of 6), and gartner.com (5 of 6). A vendor that is discussed in those exact places gets named; a vendor that is not, does not, however big it is.

So the practical move for a marketing team here is narrow. Get into the specific roundups these answers quote, be part of the Reddit conversation that is cited in every answer, and publish the comparison content that becomes a citable source, the way vidcruiter.com and hirevue.com did. Chasing a directory profile on G2 (1 of 6) or Capterra (0 of 6) is not where these answers are coming from.

Where Glotier fits

Glotier does not sell video interview software, so we are correctly absent from all 6 of these answers, and we would not pretend otherwise. What you just read is the whole point of Glotier though: the same six-question sweep, the same product and source counts, run on whatever category you actually sell in. It shows you which names ChatGPT and Gemini hand a buyer, and the exact pages behind each one. The check is free, needs no account, and takes about a minute.

The questions we asked

One live web search per question, put to serper+or:chatgpt, gemini on 2026-08-06. 6 of 6 came back with an answer we could read. Whether a product was named is decided by looking for it in the answer text, not by asking a model for its opinion.

Questions people ask

Which video interview software do ChatGPT and Gemini recommend most?
Hireflix and VidCruiter, each named in 6 of 6 answers (100%). Jobma was next at 5 of 6 (83%), then HireVue at 4 of 6 (67%) and Willo at 3 of 6 (50%). Measured on 2026-08-06 across six buyer questions put to ChatGPT and Gemini.
What is the best free video interview software according to AI?
The "best free video interview software" question returned six names: Willo, Hireflix, VidCruiter, Jobma, ScreeningHive, and HireVue. ScreeningHive appeared only in this free question and in none of the other five, so it reads as a free-specific pick.
What is the most affordable video interview software?
The "most affordable" question returned only four names, all mainstream: Jobma, Hireflix, VidCruiter, and HireVue. Unlike the free question, it surfaced no niche tools, which means "free" and "affordable" produced different answers from the same assistants.
What video interview software is best for a small team?
The small-teams question gave the tightest shortlist of all six, just three products: Hireflix, Jobma, and VidCruiter. HireVue, a 4 of 6 name overall, did not appear in the small-teams answer at all.
Do G2 and Capterra decide who AI recommends for video interview software?
Not in this sample. G2 was cited in only 1 of 6 answers and Capterra in 0 of 6. The domains cited in all six answers were reddit.com, hiretruffle.com, and selectsoftwarereviews.com, so community threads and independent roundups carried the recommendations, not the review directories.
