Gong and Mindtickle were the only two products ChatGPT and Gemini named in all six of our sales coaching software questions, 6 of 6 each. We put six versions of the same buying question to the two assistants on 2026-08-07, gave each one live web search, and recorded every product named and every source cited. None of this is our opinion, it is a transcript of what the assistants said.

The shortlist narrows fast. Across the six answers, 22 different products were named at least once, but only three cleared more than half: Gong and Mindtickle at 6 of 6, and Docebo at 5 of 6. Whatfix Mirror was next at exactly half, 3 of 6, and 13 of the 22 products were named just once. So two names are near-guaranteed, one is close behind, and everything else is a long tail that depends entirely on how the question is phrased.

How the shortlist changed with the question

The constant core was tiny. Gong and Mindtickle appeared in every one of the six answers and Docebo in five, while the remaining slots in each answer turned over depending on the wording. The fan-out, not the ranking, is the real story here.

The bare "best sales coaching software" query returned eight names: Gong, Mindtickle, Salesloft, Chorus by ZoomInfo, Alpharun, Docebo, Skylar and Whatfix Mirror. Skylar appeared here and nowhere else in the six answers, the only product unique to the plain "best" question.

"Best free sales coaching software" pulled the shortlist toward CRMs. That one question was the only place HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Jiminny appeared, four names absent from the other five answers. Add the word "free" and the answer stops naming dedicated coaching tools and starts naming the CRMs that ship a free tier.

"Most affordable sales coaching software" produced a different swap. Zoho Learn led that answer, and Fathom and Udemy appeared only there, the two names unique to the affordability question. Udemy is a course marketplace and Fathom is a meeting notetaker, so "affordable" quietly widened the category past pure coaching software.

The "small teams" cut was the one place Docebo dropped out. Its six-name answer, Gong, Avoma, Nooks, Mindtickle, Zoho Learn and Alpharun, was the only one of the six that did not mention Docebo, and Nooks appeared only here. Avoma and Zoho Learn, each named twice overall, both leaned on the small-teams and affordable questions rather than the headline "best" one.

The last two questions each added their own one-offs. "What sales coaching software should I use" was the only answer to name Ambition and Amotions AI, and "sales coaching software recommendations" was the only one to name Revenue.io, BigTinCan and Agentforce Sales. Salesforce is worth a note: it shows up once as plain "Salesforce" under the free question and once as "Agentforce Sales," its AI agent product, under recommendations. Same company, two labels, counted separately because the assistants named them separately.

The source map: who fed the answers

The answers did not run on review directories, they ran on vendor blogs and one Reddit thread. The single most-cited source was alpharun.com, a vendor's own domain, cited in all 6 answers, tied with docebo.com, also a vendor domain, at 6 of 6. Avoma's domain, Cirrus Insight's domain and Gong's domain followed at 5 each.

Reddit was the top community source, cited in 5 of the 6 answers. No Quora, no other forum appeared. That single Reddit presence carried the entire "what real buyers say" weight of these answers on its own.

Here is the key insight. docebo.com, Docebo's own website, fed 6 of 6 answers, and Docebo the product was named in 5 of 6. The vendor published the roundup, the assistants read the vendor's roundup, and the vendor got named. Gong did the same at smaller scale: gong.io cited 5 times, Gong named 6 times. In this category, a vendor's own blog was not off-limits as a source, it was the main source.

Alpharun is the instructive exception. alpharun.com was cited more than any other domain, 6 of 6, yet Alpharun the product was named only twice. Their page ranks and gets pulled into answers even though it mostly lists competitors. Being the page an assistant reads is worth more than being a product it names, because that page is where the next answer's shortlist comes from. cirrusinsight.com shows the same effect: cited in 5 of 6 answers while Cirrus Insight was never named as a product.

The classic review directories barely registered. G2 appeared mostly as its blog, learn.g2.com, cited twice, with the g2.com directory itself cited once and Gartner once. Capterra did not appear at all. If your AI-visibility plan for this category is "collect more G2 reviews," this sample says the assistants are reading roundup posts, not the reviews page.

What a vendor here would do to get named

The source list, not market share, decided who got named. Mindtickle is the proof: it was named in all 6 answers while mindtickle.com was cited just once, so nearly every mention came from someone else's page. Gong reached the same 6 of 6 with its own domain cited 5 times. Two routes, one result: be the source, or be in everyone else's.

Get into the Reddit thread that fed 5 of 6 answers. One recurring community source did more citation work than every review directory in the sample combined.

Publish your own honest roundup. The two most-cited sources overall were vendor blogs, alpharun.com and docebo.com, each at 6 of 6, and both vendors were named. A fair comparison page on your own domain is a source these assistants actually read.

Get added to the roundups you do not own. croclub.com and tango.ai were each cited twice, and federicopresicci.com and learn.g2.com fed answers too. The products listed in those posts are the products that got named, so joining an existing list is often faster than ranking a new page.

Pick the sub-question you can win. If you have a free tier, "free" is a separate race that HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Jiminny won without appearing anywhere else. If you are cheap, "affordable" named Zoho Learn, Fathom and Udemy on entirely different logic. You do not have to win "best" to get named in six of six.

Where Glotier fits

Glotier is not a sales coaching tool, so we are correctly absent from all six of these answers. We did not name ourselves and would not, this page is a measurement, not an ad for us.

But the measurement is the product. This is exactly what we run for a customer's own category: the six buyer questions, the assistants that answer, every product named, and the source pages behind each answer, so you can see whether you show up and which pages you would need to be on to change that. The check is free, no account, about a minute.

The questions we asked

One live web search per question, put to serpapi+or:chatgpt, gemini on 2026-08-07. 6 of 6 came back with an answer we could read. Whether a product was named is decided by looking for it in the answer text, not by asking a model for its opinion.

Questions people ask

What is the best sales coaching software according to AI in 2026?
In our 2026-08-07 measurement, ChatGPT and Gemini named Gong and Mindtickle in all six of six buyer questions, the only two products to appear every time. Docebo was next at five of six. If you treat "named most often by AI" as the answer, it is a tie between Gong and Mindtickle.
Does AI recommend any free sales coaching software?
The "best free sales coaching software" question was the only one of the six where HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and Jiminny appeared, alongside Mindtickle, Gong, Whatfix Mirror and Docebo. Those four CRM-style names showed up nowhere else in the six answers, so the word "free" pulled the shortlist toward CRMs with free tiers rather than dedicated coaching tools.
What is the most affordable sales coaching software AI names?
For "most affordable sales coaching software," the answer led with Zoho Learn and also named Mindtickle, Gong, Docebo and Avoma, plus two names unique to that question: Fathom, a meeting notetaker, and Udemy, a course marketplace. "Affordable" widened the category past pure coaching software, so seven names came back rather than the usual core three.
Which sales coaching tools are best for small teams?
The "best sales coaching software for small teams" question returned six names: Gong, Avoma, Nooks, Mindtickle, Zoho Learn and Alpharun. It was the only one of the six answers that did not mention Docebo, and Nooks appeared only here. Gong and Mindtickle held their spots even in the small-team cut.
Do AI answers rely on G2 and Capterra reviews for this category?
Not in this sample. Capterra did not appear in any of the six answers. G2 showed up mainly as its blog, learn.g2.com, cited twice, with the g2.com directory cited once and Gartner once. The heaviest sources were vendor blogs, alpharun.com and docebo.com each in all six answers, and Reddit in five of six, so roundup content outweighed the review directories.
