Nosto was the product ChatGPT and Gemini recommended most in this category, named in 5 of the 6 answers we collected on 2026-08-06. When we asked the two assistants for the best product recommendation software, Nosto showed up almost every time, and nothing else matched that consistency.
Four products tied for second, each named in 4 of 6 answers: Clerk.io, Emarsys, Maestra and Wisepops. We ran these questions through ChatGPT and Gemini only, one live web search per question, so every figure on this page is out of six answers, not out of a big survey we are dressing up.
Across all six questions, 23 different products were named at least once, but only 5 of those 23 appeared in more than half the answers. That gap is the story: a couple of names lead, then a long tail of tools each surface once. Claspo, Involve.me, LimeSpot and Recombee each landed in 3 of 6 answers, and Dynamic Yield in 2 of 6.
How the shortlist changed across the six questions
The single biggest shift came from one word: free. The "best free product recommendation software" question returned eight products, and all eight appeared in that answer and nowhere else: Qloo, Algolia, Optimizely One, OpenWidget, Okkular, Clarifai, SALESmanago and Rebuy, each named just 1 of 6 times overall.
Nosto, the overall leader at 5 of 6, was absent from exactly one question, and it was the free one. The same is true for the whole top tier: Clerk.io, Emarsys, Maestra and Wisepops all missed the "best free" answer too. Ask for free, and ChatGPT and Gemini drop every product they otherwise recommend and reach for a separate set of eight.
"Most affordable" behaved nothing like "free." The affordable question returned the same eight products as "what product recommendation software should I use": LimeSpot, Maestra, Clerk.io, Nosto, Emarsys, Claspo, Involve.me and Wisepops. Affordability did not move the shortlist at all, a perfect 8 of 8 match, while free rewrote it completely.
Three of the six questions converged on nearly the same answer. "What should I use," "most affordable" and "recommendations" shared a stable core of seven names: Maestra, Clerk.io, Nosto, Emarsys, Claspo, Involve.me and Wisepops. "Recommendations" differed from "what should I use" by a single swap, Recombee in for LimeSpot, so 7 of 8 names held. The generic phrasings mostly agree; the specific ones are where the list breaks apart.
The bare "best product recommendation software" question had two names that showed up only there: Bloomreach and Insider One, each 1 of 6. The "small teams" question added three of its own: Aiden, Luigi's Box and Monetate, each 1 of 6. Same category, different phrasing, and the recommended set changes by a third or more depending on which question a buyer types.
The source map: who fed the answers
Three domains fed all six answers: maestra.io (6 of 6), reddit.com (6 of 6) and wisepops.com (6 of 6). Reddit is the only pure community thread in that top group, and it was cited in every single answer, 6 of 6. Quora appeared once, 1 of 6, so the community layer here is essentially one Reddit hub plus a single Quora mention.
Here is the key insight. Two of the three most-cited domains, maestra.io and wisepops.com, are vendor sites, and both vendors were named: Maestra 4 of 6, Wisepops 4 of 6. They published their own "best software" roundups, listed themselves, and the assistants repeated it. This is not a two-brand fluke: 10 of the 21 source domains are vendors' own websites, and every one of those 10 vendors got named, including Insider One, Dynamic Yield, Recombee, Involve.me, Algolia, Bloomreach, Aiden and Rebuy.
After Reddit, the next layer of sources is more vendor and enterprise material than independent review. insiderone.com fed 4 of 6 answers, and dynamicyield.com and salesforce.com each fed 3 of 6. The pages ChatGPT and Gemini leaned on were mostly written by companies with something to sell in the category, not by neutral testers.
The classic review directories were missing. G2 and Capterra did not appear in a single one of the 6 answers. The only directory-style sources were softwareadvice.com, slashdot.org and featuredcustomers.com, each cited once, 1 of 6, and Gartner appeared once as well, 1 of 6. On this day, in this category, community threads and vendor blogs outweighed the review sites buyers usually check first.
What a vendor in this category would do to get named
The source list, not market share, decided who was named. If you sell here and you want ChatGPT or Gemini to say your name, the practical move is to be present in the exact pages these answers were built from, starting with the three that fed all 6 of them.
Reddit fed 6 of 6 answers, so a real, ongoing Reddit presence is worth more here than a polished directory profile that never got cited. A relevant thread where people actually name your tool is the kind of page these assistants are reading and repeating.
Publishing your own honest roundup works too, because it worked for the vendors who did it. Maestra and Wisepops each turned their own domain into a top-cited source, 6 of 6, and each got named in 4 of 6 answers. Getting into someone else's cited roundup, such as insiderone.com at 4 of 6 or dynamicyield.com at 3 of 6, is the other route in. Chasing a G2 or Capterra badge is not, at least not for this category today, because neither appeared in a single answer.

Where this leaves Glotier
Glotier does not sell product recommendation software, so we are correctly absent from all 6 of these answers. That is the right outcome, and we are not going to pretend otherwise or wedge our name into a category we are not in.
But the page you just read is the whole product. We put six buyer questions to ChatGPT and Gemini, recorded all 23 named products and all 21 source domains, and showed which pages the answers were actually built from. That is exactly what we do for your category, on your own product's name, so you can see whether these assistants put you on the list or leave you off it. The check is free, there is no account, and it takes about a minute.
