Four tools tied for the top of digital signage software: NoviSign, ScreenCloud, TelemetryTV and Yodeck were each named in 4 of the 6 answers we recorded when we asked ChatGPT and Gemini to recommend software in this category on 6 August 2026. No single product ran away with it, and none appeared in all six answers.
We ran six buyer questions with one live web search behind each answer, and we wrote down every product the assistants named and every domain they cited. ChatGPT and Gemini were the two assistants we used, and we tested no others, so every figure on this page comes from those two. Across the six answers, 25 distinct product names came up, but only 7 of them were named in more than one answer.
The middle of the pack was thin. OnSign TV and Viewneo were each named in 3 of 6 answers, and OptiSigns in 2 of 6. Everything else, 18 separate names, showed up in exactly 1 of the 6 answers. So the distance between "named four times" and "named once" is most of the list: 18 of the 25 names are one-hit results that hung entirely on which single question got asked.
The shortlist changed completely depending on the question
This is the part worth sitting with. The plain "best digital signage software" question returned 8 names: Yodeck, ScreenCloud, TelemetryTV, NoviSign, Viewneo, OnSign TV, plus two that showed up nowhere else in the six, Skykit Beam and DigitalSignage.com. That is the mainstream commercial list most people picture.
"Best free digital signage software" threw almost all of that away. Its 8 names were Ablesign, Digitalsignage, Yodeck, piSignage, Anthias, Concerto, Garlic Player and Garlic-Hub. Only Yodeck carried over from the plain "best" answer. The other seven are unique to the free question, and most of them (Anthias, Concerto, piSignage, Garlic Player and Garlic-Hub) are open-source or self-hosted players that never appear once you drop the word "free."
"Most affordable digital signage software" was the shortest answer of all six, just 4 names: ScreenCloud, TelemetryTV, NoviSign and Screenly. Three of those four are the same paid leaders from the "best" list, and only Screenly was unique to this question. Here is the sharp part: the "free" answer and the "affordable" answer shared zero products between them. Not one name sits on both lists. The assistants read "free" as "open-source you host yourself" and "affordable" as "the cheap end of the usual paid tools."
Of the four co-leaders, only Yodeck survived the "free" filter. NoviSign, ScreenCloud and TelemetryTV each appear in the "affordable" answer but not the "free" one. So a buyer who types "free" instead of "affordable" lands in a different world, and three of the four most-recommended brands vanish from it.
The other two questions each minted their own names too. "Best for small teams" was the only place Appspace, Rise Vision and ScreenCloud Digital Signage appeared, one mention each. "What should I use" was the only place Bizplay, Omnivex and Free Digital Signage appeared, one mention each. And "recommendations" was the only home for Skykit and Pixage by KoçSistem. Change one word in the question and you change who gets sold.
Where the answers came from
Reddit fed the answer to all 6 of 6 questions, the only source that appeared every single time. That one detail sets the tone: a community forum outranked every vendor and every analyst on coverage. Quora added one more community citation, on the "free" question.
Editorial roundups did heavy lifting too. TechRadar was cited in 5 of 6 answers and DigitalSignageToday in 2 of 6. Between Reddit, Quora, TechRadar and DigitalSignageToday, the discussion-and-roundup web is most of what these two assistants leaned on.
Review directories showed up, but not the whole set of them. G2 was cited in 5 of 6 answers, plus its learn.g2.com subdomain once, and Gartner in 4 of 6. Capterra did not appear at all. If you are paying to keep a Capterra profile polished for this category, this sample says the assistants were not reading it.
Here is the key insight, and it is about vendor domains. ScreenCloud's own site (screencloud.com) was cited in 5 of 6 answers, and ScreenCloud the product was named in 4 of 6. Yodeck's own site (yodeck.com) was cited in 3 of 6, and Yodeck was named in 4 of 6. The two brands whose own pages the assistants kept reading are two of the four that lead the entire category. Being in the source list and being in the answer are the same thing here.
It is not automatic, and we should say so plainly. easysignage.com was cited as a source once, but EasySignage was never named as a product in any of the six answers. A citation gets you into the room, it does not guarantee your name comes back out. But every product that led this category had its own domain sitting somewhere in the sources.
What a vendor here would actually do
If you sell digital signage software, this data says the job is narrower than "win the market." It is: be present in these exact places. Reddit threads (cited in all 6 answers), TechRadar roundups (5 of 6), G2 and Gartner (5 of 6 and 4 of 6), and your own domain, written clearly enough that an assistant quotes it the way it quotes screencloud.com and yodeck.com.
Notice what did not decide this: market share, funding or logo recognition. The four co-leaders won because their names sit in the pages the assistants pulled. Screenly got named only in the "affordable" answer, and only because screenly.io was in that one answer's sources. The source list is the whole game, and the source list is short enough to work on by hand.
The second lever is the question itself. Because "free" returns an all-open-source list and "affordable" returns a paid list with no overlap, a paid vendor who wants the "free" buyer has to earn a free-tier mention on purpose, the way Yodeck did as the only paid brand to cross into the free answer.
The full list, counted
| Product | Named in | Share |
|---|---|---|
| NoviSign | 4 of 6 | 67% |
| ScreenCloud | 4 of 6 | 67% |
| TelemetryTV | 4 of 6 | 67% |
| Yodeck | 4 of 6 | 67% |
| OnSign TV | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| Viewneo | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| OptiSigns | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| ScreenCloud Digital Signage | 1 of 6 | 17% |
| Skykit | 1 of 6 | 17% |
| Skykit Beam | 1 of 6 | 17% |
One housekeeping note on the table. A few brands were written two ways by the assistants, and we kept them exactly as recorded rather than folding them into a number the data does not show. ScreenCloud (4 of 6) and ScreenCloud Digital Signage (1 of 6) are the same brand. Skykit (1 of 6) and Skykit Beam (1 of 6) are the same brand. And the same site came out as both Digitalsignage (1 of 6) and DigitalSignage.com (1 of 6). We left each label as its own row so you can see precisely what the models typed.
Why Glotier is not on this list
We build Glotier, and Glotier does not sell digital signage software, so it is correctly absent from every one of these six answers. We are not going to pretend otherwise. But this page is exactly what Glotier does for a living, pointed at someone else's category: ask the assistants the questions your buyers ask, count who gets named, and show the source pages behind each answer.
If you sell in this category, the useful move is to run the same check on your own name and watch it week to week. Ours is free, there is no account, and it takes about a minute.
