Datto RMM was the product ChatGPT and Gemini named most in our remote monitoring and management software check: it appeared in 4 of the 6 buyer answers we ran on 2026-08-07, ahead of every other tool. No product was named in all six answers, and only one cleared the halfway mark, so a citation in this category means winning four of six question phrasings, not owning the market.
Below Datto RMM, five products tied at 3 of 6 answers (50% each): Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, Atera, LogMeIn Resolve, NinjaOne, and TeamViewer. Those five, plus MSP360's community edition at 2 of 6, are the only tools the two assistants reached for more than once. Nineteen products were named in total across the six answers, and 12 of them appeared exactly once.
The shortlist changed with the question
We did not ask once, we asked six times, and the answer set reshuffled almost completely between phrasings. The three general questions, "best", "what should I use", and "recommendations", converged on one five-name core: NinjaOne, Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, Atera, Datto RMM, and TeamViewer each appeared in all three of those answers. Ask the AI a single generic question and that is the list you would see.
The "best free" question threw that core out entirely. Its five names, LogMeIn Resolve, MSP360 RMM Community Edition, MeshCentral, TacticalRMM, and Beacon, shared zero products with the general "best" list. MeshCentral, TacticalRMM, and Beacon were each named in only 1 of 6 answers, and only in the free question. The two assistants treated "free" as a separate market with separate winners.
"Most affordable" produced a third list. MSP360 RMM Community Edition and LogMeIn Resolve carried over from the free answer, but Raavio, NTS, and O&O Syspectr each appeared in that one question alone (1 of 6 each). The "small teams" question added two more single-appearance names, MSP360 RMM and Lunixar RMM, the latter named nowhere else in the six answers.
The cleanest split in the data: Datto RMM led the general and team questions (4 of 6, absent from both budget questions), while LogMeIn Resolve led the budget questions (3 of 6, covering small teams, free, and affordable, absent from every general "best" answer). The two crossed paths in exactly one of the six answers, the small-teams question. No single tool won both the "best" intent and the "cheap" intent.
Counting the one-offs makes the fan-out concrete: 12 of the 19 named products (63%) appeared in just one of the six answers. Action1, ConnectWise RMM, and Kaseya RMM surfaced only in "best"; Site24x7 only in "recommendations"; MeshCentral, TacticalRMM, and Beacon only in "free"; Raavio, NTS, and O&O Syspectr only in "affordable"; Lunixar RMM and MSP360 RMM only in "small teams". Two thirds of this category's AI visibility lives in a single wording of the question.
The source map
Six domains tied as the most-cited sources, each feeding 3 of the 6 answers: datto.com, geekflare.com, learn.g2.com, logmein.com, msp360.com, and n-able.com. Below them, atera.com, ninjaone.com, and lunixar.com fed 2 answers each, and 19 more domains fed a single answer apiece, for 28 source domains in total.
The key insight is who those domains belong to. Datto RMM was named in 4 of 6 answers, and datto.com was itself a cited source in 3 of them. The pattern repeats down the list: Atera, NinjaOne, LogMeIn Resolve, MSP360, ConnectWise, Kaseya, Raavio, NTS, O&O Syspectr, Lunixar, and Beacon were all named while their own website sat in the source list. Twelve of the named products had their own domain among the sources. In this category, publishing the page the AI reads is one of the surest routes to being the product it names.
Review directories showed up unevenly. G2 was one of the six top sources, cited in 3 of 6 answers through learn.g2.com, and TrustRadius, SoftwareAdvice, GoodFirms, and SaaSworthy each fed 1 answer. Capterra did not appear at all. Neither did Reddit or Quora: every one of the 6 answers was built from vendor pages, roundup and listicle sites like geekflare.com and comparitech.com, and G2, not from community threads. The lone community-style source was github.com, which fed the free answer and is where MeshCentral and TacticalRMM both live.
Feeding an answer does not guarantee your own product is named. n-able.com was a source in 3 of 6 answers, tied for the most cited of any domain, yet N-able's own RMM was not named once: its buying-guide content got read and the assistants pulled competitors out of it. Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud and TeamViewer are the mirror case, each named in 3 of 6 answers with no company domain of their own anywhere in the sources, carried entirely by roundups.
What we would do to get named here
If we were marketing an RMM tool, the target would not be market share, it would be those exact source pages. Being named tracked with two things in this data: having your own domain in the sources (true for 12 of the named products), or being listed in the roundups and the one directory that mattered, learn.g2.com, geekflare.com, comparitech.com, expertinsights.com, and the rest. The source list decides who gets named, and it is short and specific enough to go earn a place on.
We would also pick the question we want to win. Datto RMM's 4 of 6 came from the general and small-team answers and never included "free" or "affordable", so a budget-priced vendor would chase LogMeIn Resolve's territory instead (3 of 6 across small teams, free, and affordable), which is fed by a different set of pages: github.com, goodfirms.co, and beaconinfra.dev rather than the vendor-and-roundup mix behind "best". You do not get named for an intent whose sources you are absent from.
The full list, counted
| Product | Named in | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Datto RMM | 4 of 6 | 67% |
| Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| Atera | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| LogMeIn Resolve | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| NinjaOne | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| TeamViewer | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| MSP360 RMM Community Edition | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| MSP360 RMM | 1 of 6 | 17% |
| Action1 | 1 of 6 | 17% |
MSP360 appears twice on purpose. The measurement recorded "MSP360 RMM Community Edition" (2 of 6, in the free and affordable answers) and a bare "MSP360 RMM" (1 of 6, in the small-teams answer) as two separate names, so we keep them as two rows rather than summing them into a 3 the data never showed. Ten more products were each named once (17%): Beacon, ConnectWise RMM, Kaseya RMM, Lunixar RMM, MeshCentral, NTS, O&O Syspectr, Raavio, Site24x7, and TacticalRMM.
Glotier does not sell remote monitoring and management software, so we are correctly absent from all 6 of these answers, and we would not fake our way in. But running this measurement is exactly what we do for a customer's own category: six buyer questions, the real products ChatGPT and Gemini named in each, and the source page behind every answer. The check is free, takes about a minute, and needs no account.
