Optmyzr was the only tool named in all six answers, 6 of 6. We asked ChatGPT and Gemini the six ways a buyer asks for a PPC management tool, gave each question one live web search, and wrote down every product named and every source cited. Optmyzr came back every time. No other tool did.

Each of the six answers named eight tools, so 48 product mentions in total, spread across 27 different products. Only Optmyzr hit all six. Adalysis and AdZooma came next at 4 of 6 (67% each), then Pacvue and WordStream at 3 of 6 (50%). After that the list thins fast: 16 of the 27 products were named in just one of the six answers.

Six tools landed exactly twice, 2 of 6 (33%) each: AdEspresso, Clicks Geek, Marin Software, Perpetua, ROI Hunter and Semrush. That middle band is worth a look, because it holds names a marketer would expect to dominate. Marin Software, one of the oldest enterprise PPC platforms, was named in only 2 of 6 answers. Being a category veteran did not buy a spot on the shortlist.

Optmyzr was also the first tool named in five of the six answers. The one exception was the "most affordable" question, where WordStream was named first and Optmyzr dropped to third. Even the run-away leader moved position when the buyer changed a single word.

How the shortlist changed across the six questions

This is the part worth staring at. The six questions are close paraphrases of one intent, yet the assistants returned a different shortlist for almost every one. Only Optmyzr survived all six phrasings intact.

The bare "best ppc management tools" answer named Optmyzr, Skai, Adalysis, Perpetua, Pacvue, Helium 10 Ads, Sellics and TrueClicks. Four of those eight appeared nowhere else in the study: Skai, Helium 10 Ads, Sellics and TrueClicks. The plain "best" query leaned toward enterprise and Amazon marketplace tools, several of which vanished the moment the question got more specific.

"Best free ppc management tools" returned Optmyzr, Adalysis, AdZooma, PPCSamurai, AdEspresso, WordStream, Semrush and SpyFu. Two of those, PPCSamurai and SpyFu, showed up only for the free question. Adding the word "free" pulled in SEO and competitive-research tools like Semrush and SpyFu that never appear when you just ask for the "best."

"Most affordable ppc management tools" produced a third set: WordStream, Clicks Geek, Optmyzr, AdEspresso, Semrush, PPC Entourage, WeTracked and Swydo. Three of those, PPC Entourage, WeTracked and Swydo, appeared only for the affordable question. "Free" and "affordable" read like synonyms to a person, but the two answers shared only four of their eight names: Optmyzr, AdEspresso, WordStream and Semrush.

"For small teams" produced Optmyzr, WordStream, Clicks Geek, AdZooma, Sellozo, Google Ads Smart Campaigns, SalesDuo and Pacvue. Three names were unique to it: Google Ads Smart Campaigns, SalesDuo and Sellozo. Google's own free product only surfaced once team size entered the question.

The two open-ended phrasings behaved most like the bare "best" query, but each dragged in feed and shopping tools of its own. "What ppc management tools should I use" was the only place Channable, Marpipe and ProductHero appeared. "Ppc management tools recommendations" was the only place the label WordStream Advisor appeared, listed separately from the plain WordStream. Add it up and 16 of the 27 products earned their entire presence from a single phrasing. If you only checked your ranking on "best ppc management tools," you would miss five of the six questions your buyers actually type.

The source map: where the answers came from

Eighteen domains fed the six answers, 44 citations in all. Reddit was in every single answer (6 of 6). Quora was in 5 of 6. The most-cited source in this entire category is a community forum, not a software review site.

After the two community sites, the heaviest sources were roundup and blog posts: Zapier (5 of 6), smarter-ecommerce.com (4 of 6), and the PPC agency blog Aimers (3 of 6). These are the pages the assistants read and summarized. If your tool is not in them, it is not in the answer.

Here is the insight for anyone selling in this category. Several vendors' own domains were cited as sources, and the vendors whose content got cited were the same ones named as products. Optmyzr's own site (optmyzr.com) was cited once and Optmyzr was named 6 of 6. Adalysis's site (adalysis.com) was cited 3 times and Adalysis was named 4 of 6. Clicks Geek's site (clicksgeek.com) was cited twice and Clicks Geek was named twice. Publishing content the assistants actually pull from tracks closely with getting recommended.

The exception shows how the mechanism works. SalesDuo's domain (salesduo.com) was the joint most-cited vendor source, feeding 5 of 6 answers, yet the SalesDuo product itself was named only once. Their roundup content got read everywhere; their product still has to earn the pick. Being the source is not the same as being the recommendation, but only the vendors who were both cited and named reached the top of the list.

One absence stands out. G2 and Capterra, the review directories most software marketers obsess over, did not appear once. Zero of the 18 source domains were review directories. In PPC tools, the assistants reached for Reddit, Quora, Zapier and vendor blogs instead.

What it takes to get named here

If you run marketing for a PPC tool, this data says your AI visibility is decided by a list of about 18 pages, not by your market share. Marin Software and Skai are established platforms and they landed 2 of 6 and 1 of 6. Optmyzr, a mid-market tool, was named every time because it is present across these exact sources.

So the work is concrete. Be in the Reddit and Quora threads the assistants keep citing, since those two sites were in 6 and 5 of the six answers. Get into the roundups that keep getting pulled: Zapier, smarter-ecommerce, Aimers. And publish your own content worth citing, the way Optmyzr and Adalysis did, because their own domains showed up as sources sitting right next to their names. None of that is about being the biggest. It is about being present where the answer gets assembled.

Track more than one phrasing too. Because 16 of 27 products lived or died on a single question, the tool that wins "best" can be invisible on "affordable" or "for small teams." You need to know which of the six you are missing.

We stop the table at every tool named more than once, then add the second WordStream label so you can see the split. WordStream and WordStream Advisor are the same brand, and the assistants labelled it both ways: the plain "WordStream" 3 times and "WordStream Advisor" once. We list them as measured and do not fold them into a single 4 of 6, because the data never produced that number. Below the cut, 16 more tools were each named once.

Glotier does not sell PPC management software, so we are not in these answers, and that is the correct result. We would never want to fake our way onto a list we do not belong on. But this page is exactly the measurement we run for a customer, on their own category, with their own product: we ask the assistants the way buyers do, record who gets named and which sources fed each answer, and hand back the source list you would need to get onto. The check is free, there is no account, and it takes about a minute.

The questions we asked

One live web search per question, put to serper+or:chatgpt, gemini on 2026-08-03. 6 of 6 came back with an answer we could read. Whether a product was named is decided by looking for it in the answer text, not by asking a model for its opinion.

Questions people ask

What is the best PPC management tool according to AI in 2026?
When we asked ChatGPT and Gemini across six buyer questions, Optmyzr was the only tool named in all six answers (6 of 6, 100%). Adalysis and AdZooma tied for second at 4 of 6 (67% each), and Pacvue and WordStream followed at 3 of 6 (50%). No other tool was named in more than half the answers.
Which free PPC management tools does AI recommend?
For the question "best free ppc management tools," ChatGPT and Gemini named eight tools: Optmyzr, Adalysis, AdZooma, PPCSamurai, AdEspresso, WordStream, Semrush and SpyFu. Two of those, PPCSamurai and SpyFu, appeared only for the free question and in none of the other five, so the free-specific list is genuinely different from the general one.
Are the 'best' and 'most affordable' PPC tool lists the same?
No. The "best free" answer and the "most affordable" answer each named eight tools but shared only four: Optmyzr, AdEspresso, WordStream and Semrush. The affordable question alone surfaced PPC Entourage, WeTracked and Swydo, and it was the one question where WordStream, not Optmyzr, was named first. Two phrasings that sound identical to a person returned two different shortlists.
Do G2 and Capterra reviews decide which PPC tools AI recommends?
Not in this category. Across the six answers, 18 domains were cited 44 times, and not one was a review directory: no G2, no Capterra. The answers were fed by Reddit (in 6 of 6 answers), Quora (5 of 6), roundups like Zapier (5 of 6) and smarter-ecommerce (4 of 6), and vendor blogs. Community threads and roundups, not directories, drove the recommendations.
How do I get my PPC tool recommended by ChatGPT and Gemini?
Get into the exact sources the answers are built from, because the source list decided who got named, not market share: enterprise names Marin Software and Skai landed only 2 of 6 and 1 of 6. Be present in the Reddit and Quora threads that appeared in 6 and 5 of the six answers, in the roundups that keep getting cited (Zapier, smarter-ecommerce, Aimers), and publish your own content worth citing. Optmyzr and Adalysis both had their own domains cited as sources, and both were named in most answers.
