Who ChatGPT and Gemini recommend for order management software

We put 6 buyer questions about order management software to ChatGPT and Gemini. One tool tied at the top, each named in 5 of 6 answers, and none in all six. Here is the full list, the pages the answers were built from, and what it means whether or not your product is on it.

Zoho Inventory was the one product ChatGPT and Gemini kept returning: it was named in 5 of the 6 answers we recorded for "order management software" on 6 August 2026. No other product came close on frequency, so Zoho Inventory is the default name a buyer hears if they ask either assistant to pick order management software today.

After Zoho Inventory, three products tied for second at 3 of 6 answers each: GOIS, Salesforce Order Management, and SAP Commerce Cloud. That is a 50% hit rate, meaning each showed up in half the answers and sat out the other half. The gap between first place (5 of 6) and second place (3 of 6) is two full answers, so Zoho Inventory's lead is real and not a rounding artifact.

The rest of the field is thin. Only seven products were named in more than one answer at all: Zoho Inventory (5 of 6), then GOIS, Salesforce Order Management and SAP Commerce Cloud (3 of 6 each), then Inflow Inventory, Oracle NetSuite and Sage at 2 of 6. Eighteen other products were each named exactly once, which is 17% of the answers, and a single mention like that is closer to noise than to a recommendation a buyer can lean on.

How the shortlist changed from question to question

The six questions did not return one stable shortlist. They returned several, and the swings are the whole story. Ask the bare question, "best order management software," and ChatGPT and Gemini named eight products, all of them enterprise platforms: Salesforce Order Management, Oracle NetSuite, SAP Commerce Cloud, IBM Sterling Order Management, OneStock, activeOrder, Adobe Commerce and Flowspace. Zoho Inventory, the overall leader across all six questions, did not appear in that answer at all.

Five of those eight names, IBM Sterling Order Management, OneStock, activeOrder, Adobe Commerce and Flowspace, showed up in only that one question and nowhere else in the six. So the bare "best" query has its own private lineup of heavy enterprise tools, and that lineup vanishes the moment a buyer adds any qualifier about team size, price or use case.

The "best free order management software" question returned a nearly separate universe: ShipStation, Zoho Inventory, Trello, monday.com AI Work Platform, Odoo, Shippo, Weebly and ZhenHub. Seven of those eight, everything except Zoho Inventory, appeared in no other question. Adding the single word "free" swapped out almost the entire shortlist, which tells you the assistants are not ranking one master list, they are pulling from whatever pages match the exact phrasing.

The "most affordable order management software" question was the most extreme of all: it collapsed to a single name, Zoho Inventory, and nothing else. One product, one answer, 100% of that answer's mentions. Between the enterprise-only "best" list and the one-name "affordable" list, Zoho Inventory is the bridge. It was absent from "best" but present in the small-teams, "what should I use," free, affordable and recommendations questions, which is 5 of the 6.

The middle questions filled the gaps with their own one-off names. "Best for small teams" was the only place Shopify and the short-label "NetSuite" appeared. "What order management software should I use" was the only home for Agiliron and Ok-Yak. "Order management software recommendations" was the only question to surface MetaWMS and Manhattan Active Omni. If a vendor is not in the exact sub-question its buyers type, it is simply not in that answer.

Where the answers came from

Community threads, not directories, fed these answers. Reddit was the single most-used source, appearing in all 6 of 6 answers, and Quora appeared in 3 of 6. Every answer we recorded leaned on at least one Reddit thread, so for order management software the assistant's "recommendation" is substantially a synthesis of what people said in forums.

Roundup and vendor pages did the rest of the work. After Reddit (6 of 6), the most-cited domains were metaoption.com in 5 of 6 answers, then g2.com, sage.com and zoho.com at 4 each, and monday.com, msdynamicsworld.com and quora.com at 3 each. This is a small, knowable set: ten domains covered almost every answer, and a marketer could read all of them in an afternoon.

Review directories did show up, but they did not run the table. G2 was cited in 4 of 6 answers, Capterra in only 1, and Gartner in only 1. So the classic "get on G2 and Capterra" advice is half right here: G2 pulls weight, but Capterra and Gartner combined fed just 2 answers, fewer than Reddit fed on its own.

The key insight is in the vendor domains. Zoho's own site, zoho.com, fed 4 of 6 answers, and Zoho Inventory was the most-named product at 5 of 6. Sage's own site, sage.com, fed 4 answers, and Sage was named twice. goodsorderinventory.com is GOIS's own domain, and GOIS was named 3 times. flow.space is Flowspace's own domain, and Flowspace was named. monday.com fed 3 answers, and the monday.com AI Work Platform was named. When a vendor's own pages sit in the source set, that vendor tends to sit in the answer. Owning the citation is close to owning the recommendation.

What we would do if we sold order management software

We would treat that source list as the target, not our market share. The measurement is blunt about this: each answer is assembled from Reddit threads, a handful of roundups, G2, and the vendors' own domains. A product with 2% of the market that is discussed in the right Reddit thread will out-appear a market leader that is not, because the assistant reads the page, not the market.

Concretely, we would want a presence in the exact ten or so domains that fed these answers. We would want to be discussed on Reddit, the source behind all 6 answers, hold a real page on the roundup and directory sites that carried weight such as g2.com (4 of 6 answers), and keep our own domain useful enough to be cited the way zoho.com and sage.com were, each feeding 4 answers. Then we would re-run the same six questions and watch whether we moved, because the only proof any of this worked is showing up in the next measurement.

The full list, counted

These are the most-named products, with the count and share exactly as the measurement recorded them. Note that one brand appears twice under two labels, Oracle NetSuite (2 of 6) and the bare NetSuite (1 of 6). We are keeping them as separate rows because that is how the assistants said them, so NetSuite's real reach is split across two lines rather than shown as one combined number the data never produced.

Where Glotier fits

Glotier does not sell order management software, and you will not find us in any of these 6 answers. That is correct. We should not appear in a category we are not in, and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

But this page is exactly the thing Glotier does, pointed at someone else's category. We asked ChatGPT and Gemini the six questions a real buyer would type, recorded all 25 products they named and all 18 domains they cited, and turned it into a map of who gets recommended and why. If you sell order management software, your own version of this table already exists inside those two assistants right now, and you can see where you land in it. The check is free, there is no account, and it takes about a minute.

The questions we asked

One live web search per question, put to serper+or:chatgpt, gemini on 2026-08-06. 6 of 6 came back with an answer we could read. Whether a product was named is decided by looking for it in the answer text, not by asking a model for its opinion.

  1. best order management software
  2. best order management software for small teams
  3. what order management software should I use
  4. best free order management software
  5. most affordable order management software

Questions people ask

What is the best order management software according to AI in 2026?
When we asked ChatGPT and Gemini on 6 August 2026, Zoho Inventory was named most often, in 5 of the 6 answers. Behind it, GOIS, Salesforce Order Management and SAP Commerce Cloud tied at 3 of 6 each. No other product was named in more than 2 of the 6 answers, so the AI's clear default pick is Zoho Inventory.
What is the best free order management software according to ChatGPT and Gemini?
For the free question specifically, ChatGPT and Gemini named eight products: ShipStation, Zoho Inventory, Trello, monday.com AI Work Platform, Odoo, Shippo, Weebly and ZhenHub. Seven of those eight appeared only in the free question and in none of the other five, so the free shortlist is almost entirely its own separate list, with only Zoho Inventory carrying over from the paid answers.
What is the most affordable order management software?
The 'most affordable order management software' question returned a single name: Zoho Inventory, and nothing else. It was the only product in that answer, 100% of that answer's mentions. Zoho Inventory also appeared in 5 of the 6 questions overall, so it owns the affordability and small-team framing more than any other tool in this category.
Do ChatGPT and Gemini rely on G2 and Capterra to recommend order management software?
Only partly. G2 was cited in 4 of the 6 answers, so it carries real weight, but Capterra fed just 1 answer and Gartner just 1. The single most-used source was Reddit, which fed all 6 of 6 answers, followed by metaoption.com at 5. Community threads outweighed the review directories here.
How can my order management software get recommended by AI assistants?
Be present in the roughly ten domains that fed these answers, because the source list, not market share, decides who is named. Reddit was behind all 6 answers, and vendors whose own domains were cited tended to be named: zoho.com and sage.com each fed 4 answers, and both Zoho Inventory and Sage were named. Glotier runs exactly this measurement for your own category, free, no account, in about a minute.
