ChurnZero was the only churn prediction tool that ChatGPT and Gemini named in all six of our buyer questions, a clean 6 of 6. We ran this on 2026-08-06: six different ways a buyer might ask for the best churn prediction software, each put to ChatGPT and Gemini with one live web search. Gainsight came second at 5 of 6, and Zendesk third at 4 of 6.
Across those six answers the two assistants named 19 different product labels and cited 19 different source domains. Only three products were named in more than half the answers: ChurnZero at 6 of 6 (100%), Gainsight at 5 of 6 (83%) and Zendesk at 4 of 6 (67%). Every other tool showed up in three answers or fewer, so the shortlist a buyer actually sees swings hard on how the question is worded.
How the shortlist changed from question to question
The bare "best churn prediction software" question returned seven names: ChurnZero, Zendesk, Gainsight, Pecan AI, Pendo, Contentsquare and Qualtrics XM. That is the closest thing to a default answer, and it leans enterprise.
Ask instead for the "best free" churn prediction software and the list moves: Gainsight, Pendo Predict, ChurnZero, Contentsquare, Journy.io, Vitally, UserMotion and Churnly, eight names in all. Four of them, Journy.io, Vitally, UserMotion and Churnly, never appeared in the bare "best" answer. Two of those, Journy.io and UserMotion, showed up only when the word "free" was in the question.
The "most affordable" question produced a third, different set of seven: Gainsight, ChurnZero, Zendesk, Pendo, Pecan, Churnly and Avoma. Line the three up and only two names, ChurnZero and Gainsight, appear on all of the "best", the "free" and the "affordable" lists. A buyer comparing those three phrasings is really reading three overlapping but distinct shortlists.
Seven products were named in exactly one of the six questions, which means a single wording change is all that stood between them and never being seen. "Best for small teams" was the only place Totango, Akkio and Qualtrics appeared, 1 of 6 each. Staircase AI showed up only under "what should I use". Journy.io and UserMotion appeared only under "best free". Hotjar appeared only under "recommendations".
The same brand also changed labels depending on the question. Pendo is written "Pendo" in the "best", "affordable" and "recommendations" answers, but "Pendo Predict" in the "small teams", "should I use" and "free" answers, 3 of 6 each way. Pecan is "Pecan AI" in two answers and plain "Pecan" in two others. Qualtrics is "Qualtrics XM" twice and plain "Qualtrics" once. We keep these as separate lines because that is how the assistants wrote them, and because a buyer skimming the list may not notice "Pendo" and "Pendo Predict" are the same company.
Who fed the answers: the source map
Nineteen distinct domains fed the six answers, cited 47 times in total. The three most-cited were churnzero.com, pendo.io and zendesk.com at five citations each. Here is the finding that matters most: the domains the assistants leaned on hardest were mostly the vendors' own websites, and those vendors are the ones that got named. ChurnZero's own site was cited five times, and ChurnZero was named six times, top of both lists.
Add it up and 31 of the 47 source citations (66%) came from eight named vendors' own domains: churnzero.com, pendo.io, zendesk.com (plus its French twin zendesk.fr), avoma.com, pecan.ai, contentsquare.com, gainsight.com and usermotion.com. Only 16 of 47 citations (34%) came from anywhere else. In this category, being your own source is doing most of the work.
Community threads showed up, but thinly. Reddit was cited three times and was the only community source in the entire run of 47 citations. Quora did not appear once. The remaining non-vendor citations were roundup and blog pages: shopify.com three times, soloway.tech and vwo.com twice each, and one citation apiece from churntools.com, fastdatascience.com, guideflow.com, lucid.now, optimove.com and velaris.io.
The classic review directories were absent entirely. Not one of the 47 citations came from G2, Capterra, TrustRadius or Software Advice. In many software categories those sites dominate what the assistants read. In churn prediction, on this run, they contributed nothing at all.
What a churn prediction vendor would actually do
If you sell in this category and you want to be named, the pattern is blunt: be present in these exact sources. ChurnZero was named in all 6 answers and its own domain was cited 5 times. The assistants did not weigh market share or revenue, they read whatever pages the search returned and named what was on them.
That cuts both ways. Being on the fetched page is what got a tool named, and not being on it is why plenty of known tools went unnamed here. Because two-thirds of the citations (31 of 47) were vendors' own domains, your most controllable lever is your own site: a current, specific, comparison-shaped page about your churn product is exactly the kind of source ChatGPT and Gemini pulled from in this run. Reddit helped three times across the whole run; a strong owned page helped far more often.
Where Glotier fits, and where it does not
Glotier does not sell churn prediction software, so our absence from all six answers is the correct result: we were named 0 times, and we should have been. We are not going to pretend otherwise.
But the measurement on this page is exactly what we do for a living. Point Glotier at your own category and we run this same set of buyer questions against the AI assistants, record every product named and every domain cited, and hand you the source pages behind each answer so you can see which ones to get onto. The check is free, needs no account, and takes about a minute.
The full list, counted
Counts are out of the six answers. Where one brand was written two ways, both labels are listed exactly as the assistants returned them.
| Product | Named in | Share |
|---|---|---|
| ChurnZero | 6 of 6 | 100% |
| Gainsight | 5 of 6 | 83% |
| Zendesk | 4 of 6 | 67% |
| Churnly | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| Pendo | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| Pendo Predict | 3 of 6 | 50% |
| Avoma | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| Contentsquare | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| Pecan | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| Pecan AI | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| Qualtrics XM | 2 of 6 | 33% |
| Vitally | 2 of 6 | 33% |
Pendo and Pendo Predict are the same vendor under two labels, as are Pecan and Pecan AI; we list them separately because the assistants did. Qualtrics also appears once more below this cut as plain "Qualtrics" (1 of 6), alongside six other tools named a single time: Akkio, Hotjar, Journy.io, Staircase AI, Totango and UserMotion.
