Chargebacks911 and Justt tied at the top of this category: each was named in 5 of the 6 answers ChatGPT and Gemini gave when we asked who makes the best chargeback management software. On 2026-08-07 we put six buyer-style questions to those two assistants, let each run one live web search, and recorded every product named and every source cited. Two names out of eighteen led the field, both landing at 83%.

The field was wide but thin at the top. Eighteen different products were named across the six questions, yet only Chargebacks911 and Justt reached 5 of 6. Chargeback Gurus and Chargeback.com followed at 4 of 6 (67% each), then a middle band of four products at 3 of 6 (50%). Across all six answers there were 42 product mentions in total, and eight of the eighteen products were named in just one question apiece, so this category has a clear head and a very long tail.

One question broke the pattern completely. When we asked the most decision-shaped version, "what chargeback management software should I use," the two assistants named only 3 products: Chargeflow, Accertify, and Chargeback.com. Neither of the two category leaders, Chargebacks911 nor Justt, appeared in that answer at all. The same brands that top the broad "best" lists can vanish the moment the question gets specific.

How the shortlist changed across the six questions

The shortlist was not stable. Of the 18 products named, 8 showed up in only one of the six questions. "Best for small teams" was the only place iNymbus and Kount appeared. "Most affordable" was the only place Riskified and NoFraud appeared. And "recommendations" was the only place Clearsale, SEON, Sift, and Verifi appeared. Change the wording of the question and almost half the list changes with it.

Compare the three price framings directly. The bare "best chargeback management software" named 8 products, and "best free" named 8 as well, but they were almost the same list: swapping exactly one name (Chargebackhit out, Accertify in) while keeping Bolt, Signifyd, Square, Chargeback Gurus, Chargeback.com, Chargebacks911, and Justt in both. Adding the word "free" moved a single name out of eight. The same paid enterprise vendors came straight back.

"Most affordable" was where the list actually turned over. It kept the 4 anchors that ran through every price framing (Signifyd, Chargeback.com, Chargebacks911, and Justt), dropped Bolt, Square, and Chargeback Gurus, and pulled in three names the "best" and "free" questions never surfaced: Chargeflow, plus Riskified and NoFraud, the last two appearing in this one question only. If you sell on price, "affordable" is a different race than "best," with only 4 of 8 names shared.

Where the answers came from

The six answers rested on 48 source citations drawn from 16 domains, 8 sources per question. Three domains were cited in every single answer: bolt.com, solidgate.com, and stripe.com, at 6 of 6 each. None of those three is a review directory. Two are payment companies and one is a checkout platform, all publishing roundup posts about chargeback tools that the assistants leaned on hardest.

Here is the insight that matters most for a vendor. Bolt's own domain, bolt.com, was the joint most-cited source at 6 of 6, and Bolt the product was named in 2 of 6 answers. Chargebacks911's own domain fed 5 of 6 answers, and Chargebacks911 was one of the two top-named products at 5 of 6. Chargeflow's own domain fed 5 of 6, and Chargeflow was named in 3 of 6. Accertify's site fed 2 answers and Accertify was named 3 times. In this category, a company's own published pages get pulled straight into the answer, and the brands that publish are the brands that get named.

Review directories barely showed up. G2 did not appear once in 48 citations. Capterra appeared a single time (capterra.ca, 1 of 6) and TrustRadius twice (2 of 6). Community threads were just as thin: Reddit was cited once, in the bare "best" question, and Quora not at all. The editorial roundups that did the heavy lifting came from payment and commerce companies (solidgate.com, stripe.com, and payrails.com, cited 4 to 6 times each) and a couple of software-review sites (technologyadvice.com and hoteltechreport.com, twice each).

What this means if you sell chargeback software

The takeaway is blunt: in this category the source list, not market share, decides who gets named. Bolt is a checkout company, not primarily a chargeback specialist, yet it was named in 2 of 6 answers because bolt.com was the top-cited page. Meanwhile well-known fraud platforms like Riskified, Kount, and Sift were each named in only 1 of 6, because they appeared on fewer of the exact pages these two assistants happened to read.

So the work is concrete. Get onto the specific pages these answers were built from: the roundups on solidgate.com, stripe.com, payrails.com, and technologyadvice.com (each cited 2 to 6 times), and the comparison pages on bolt.com and chargeflow.io. Publish the answer on your own domain too, because self-citation clearly works here: Chargebacks911, Chargeflow, and Accertify all fed answers from their own sites and all got named. And seed the community layer, because a single Reddit thread was enough to feed the broad "best" answer.

A note on the names: Chargebacks911, Chargeback Gurus, Chargeback.com, and Chargebackhit are four separate companies, not one brand recorded four ways. We count and list them exactly as the assistants named them, at 5, 4, 4, and 3 of 6 respectively, rather than merging them into a number the data never showed. Below this top band sit eight more products at 1 of 6 each (17%): Clearsale, iNymbus, Kount, NoFraud, Riskified, SEON, Sift, and Verifi.

Why Glotier is not on this list

You will not find Glotier anywhere in these results, and that is correct. We do not sell chargeback management software, so ChatGPT and Gemini should not name us when buyers ask for it, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. But this page is exactly the thing we run for a customer's own category. We asked six real buyer questions, watched two assistants answer, and counted who got named across 42 mentions and which 16 domains decided it.

If you sell in this category, the same check on your own category takes about a minute, needs no account, and is free. You would see where you stand in your own "best," "free," and "affordable" answers, and which pages you would need to land on to move.

The questions we asked

One live web search per question, put to serpapi+or:chatgpt, gemini on 2026-08-07. 6 of 6 came back with an answer we could read. Whether a product was named is decided by looking for it in the answer text, not by asking a model for its opinion.

Questions people ask

What is the best chargeback management software according to AI in 2026?
In our 2026-08-07 measurement, ChatGPT and Gemini named Chargebacks911 and Justt most often, each in 5 of the 6 answers (83%). Chargeback Gurus and Chargeback.com came next at 4 of 6 (67% each). Eighteen products were named in total, so no single tool dominated, but those two led every broad framing except one.
Which chargeback tools do AI assistants recommend for small teams?
For the question "best chargeback management software for small teams," ChatGPT and Gemini named 7 products: Chargeflow, Chargebacks911, Justt, Chargebackhit, Chargeback Gurus, iNymbus, and Kount. iNymbus and Kount appeared only in this question and in none of the other five, so they are specifically a small-team answer rather than category-wide picks.
Is there free chargeback management software?
When we asked for the "best free" option, ChatGPT and Gemini named 8 products, but they were almost identical to the plain "best" list, swapping only Chargebackhit for Accertify and keeping the same paid vendors like Chargebacks911, Justt, Signifyd, and Chargeback.com. The word "free" moved exactly one name out of eight and did not surface a distinctly free tool.
What is the most affordable chargeback management software?
The "most affordable" answer named Signifyd, Chargeback.com, Chargeflow, Riskified, NoFraud, Justt, Chargebackhit, and Chargebacks911. Riskified and NoFraud appeared only in this question. It shared just 4 names with the plain "best" list, so affordability pulled up a noticeably different shortlist than a bare quality query did.
Do AI assistants use G2 or Capterra to recommend chargeback software?
Mostly not in this category. Across 48 source citations, G2 did not appear once, Capterra appeared a single time, and TrustRadius twice. The three most-cited domains, each in all 6 answers, were bolt.com, solidgate.com, and stripe.com, which are payment and commerce companies' roundup posts, alongside vendors' own sites like chargebacks911.com and chargeflow.io. Reddit was cited once and Quora not at all.
